Many of the achievements are horrible grindfests far beyond reasonable play.
While it's better than it was, it's still far, far from ideal and makes the quality suffer a great deal too. Pathfinding suffers massively, constantly and painfully. Occasional performance issues and graphical hiccups (Like all the map animations cycling back, visibly resetting) Some campaign missions suffer because methods aren't implemented to counteract their massively aggressive AI (The Holy Man and other similar ones specifically). Will try to build a house right in the middle of your army, and yet ruthlessly stomp you if it can, when it can. Spams towers in random places for no reason, bum rushes your army with villagers, (some missions are broken because of that), occasionally just stops doing anything for extended periods of time. Will micro every unit individually, yet won't fill transport ships with more than 5 units. AI is simultaneously stupid and stupidly hard. More accurate to history campaigns than the original Very aesthetically pleasing design, though lacking a little in diversity, not lacking at all in quality (not zoomed in of course) Everything feels useful and purposeful (though some more than others)
